My Doings
I'm Officially on Vacation starting today. However I've literally done nothing with my first day yet. I did hope to scrapbook a little. I'm thinking of entering a contest on one of the scrapbooking websites. I may need to run to the store and see if they have the items I need before doing this, but I relly don't want to spend any of the money I have saved to go to Albuquerque. We're headed out to the Balloon Fiesta on Tuesday. Monday just had to be a holiday and so I won't get paid until Tuesday. we were going to leave first thing in the morning, but it doesn't look like we will until I get my check. I have several sb stores mapped out down there. It's always fun to shop at a different store, they all tend to carry different things. I'm hoping to find some more Prima flowers, I can't get them around here.

My Doings
We got back yesterday from another balloon rally. We stayed in an alpine lodge looking hotel. Two rooms plus a bath, I've been in smaller houses. The view of the mountains from the window was gorgeous too. I love it up there! I also found a great sb store by accident. If you hear Mike tell it I yelled and he slammed on the brakes to go there, but I swear that's not the way it went down, LOL. Naturally he came in the store with me, it's not that I minded that, but he talks to the clerk about ballooning, so much so that I feel compelled to hurry before he bores them to death.
Everyone told us when we got back that they saw our balloon on the news.
Saturday was Mike's 45th birthday. I had a friend bring a cake up and she had his balloon printed on the cake. My camera batteries are dead, so I had a friend take a picture of it, I'll post when I get it.

I'm still working on altering comp books. I should be working on challenges for Scrap 'N Stuff, but I'm having so much fun doing these for now. Besides I can't find much of my desk just now.

My cat Boo has lymphoma sarcoma. They say that it's in his throat. He was diagnosed about 1-1/2 years ago and given 2 months to live. I got him on some meds (prednisone) , thanks to a support group and he's done amazingly well ever since. I'm thinking of getting a second opinion, but what if the results came out the same? It would be like that first punch in the stomach all over again. He is epiliptic and has the occasional seizure, but not as often as they said that he would. He takes meds for that also. I check him often to see if the lymphnodes on his back legs have grown and so far so good. I gave him a bath today, he's so sweet, he never fights you about anything, although he does give you a good run at time for meds. Can't say as I blame him. I do love that cat though!

My Doings
We awoke to a rather blustery day. It's 58* right now and very windy. It may even snow here Saturday in Colorado. I'm definitely not ready for that! We will still go to the balloon rally, but doubtful we will fly!

I finally found some more composition books and I'm gathering the stuff to make myself one. I'll take it this weekend in case I need something to do. Mine is going to be a Christmas list book and I have AC Christmas papers and ribbons to use for it. I have to make a quick run to the LSS today and grab a few extras pieces. I've never been into the altering thing, but these are so much fun for me to do. I really enjoy it. I want to make a few others for Christmas gifts. Who knows if I have enough time I may make one for everyone, LOL. Well, maybe not the guys.

Jeff gets his driving license today--finally, he's almost 19! He hasn't been able to get it due to mishaps, laws changing, lack of a vehicle to use or just no time. They have you make an appt here and it takes a month and a half to get one, but we found someone in a nearby town to do the test earlier. If he passes he will have a job working for his brothers boss in the oil field. I should take my camera, huh?

My Doings

It's been awhile since I updated this. Jeff's hand completely healed up. But he eventually quit that job and is waiting to hear if he will be working in the oil field with his brother Matt now. I can't say that it upset me that he quit, he came home black and greasy every night. (But he was making good money at it) However he's done nothing but play video games since he quit which is getting on my last nerve. I often wonder how my boys can be such hard workers at work, then so Lazy at home!

Things have been so busy here, I've been working a lot, there's hardy time to do the things I want and need to do some days. I will have two weekends where I can getaway, as we're going to be going to a few balloon rallies. Then in October we're going to Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. I'm looking forward to this with the exception of the long ride down there. We'll be traveling with my sister-in-laws, in-laws, so maybe that will make the time go a little faster. Mike and I consider them to be our in-laws as well. We won't be taking our balloon, but my Bil is taking his and will fly. I was hoping we'd just be going as spectators, but it looks like we're really going to help crew (something Mike forgot to mention when he said that we were going).

I turned 45 on the 2nd of this month. I can't say that that thrilled me in Any way. But my birthday didn't go un- noticed like it usually does. My kids bought me a Cricut, my dear friend Tanya sent me a box full of scrapbooking goodies and another dear friend Maria took me to lunch. (Mike bought me that Dyson not long ago) I was also wished a Happy Birthday by friends on the MB's that I frequent. We went to an arcade/pizza place similar to Chucky Cheese only with good pizza that evening for a BD party for my Fil and my nephew. But they sang to everyone, including Matt's gf whose bd is on the 6th.

My friend Beth and I went out in the country to take pictures last Sunday. She's taking a photography class. We took pictures of hay bales, tractors and things of that sort. I took one with her camera and got a good grade on it, LOL, that made my day. In HS all I wanted to be was a photographer. I regret not pursuing that dream, I still Love taking pictures, hense my getting into scrapbooking. Well, that and it being a creative outlet for me, because I used to do crafts until I found scrapbooking.

Fall began here the beginning of the month after such a long hot miserable summer. I hate to sweat, and I did a lot of that. Of course I'm thinking that some of it has to do with Peri-Menopause, because there are times when I barely move and I'm sweating. Fall is my favorite season, and it's way too short for me. I love the brilliant colors of the leaves. It's too quick that they turn and fall off, after that happens I'm ready for Spring, my next favorite season. I prefer cooler days, but don't like the extremes of heat and cold.

Well, that about catches me up. I hope to keep this up better as time allows.

My Doings

I realized that I haven't updated here for awhile. Jeff's finger is healing nicely, no pin in it. The stitches are out, but he still has to keep it wrapped in his half cast. The Dr. said a good bump could break the bones apart. He went back to work, counting pipe for now. He was bored silly staying at home.
It's raining today, a light steady soaker rain, which we needed so badly. I slept until almost 9 this morning. I had to force myself to finally get up. I'm going to scrap today. I bought some new Daisy D.'s papers at HL yesterday. They remind me of a Basic grey line. Darla posted about some cute photo albums she got at Mike's for $1, so I may head over there to get one for a friend for her birthday. I really shouldn't go, but curiosity at what they have in their $$ bins has won out.
Maybe I'll make hamburger stew in the crock pot. Mike works a 12 hour shift today. I hate it when he has to work so many days in a row. When he was younger he thought nothing of this, but now it's getting a little tougher. It's not worth the extra money, not like he's been given a choice though.
My friend comes back today. She was in Boise, ID checking out new places to live. How exciting for them. They live in CA, so now she will live closer. Maybe some day I will get to meet her in person.

I haven't posted for a few days, I've been busy this week. Jeff got his hand crushed at work the other day. It crushed the bone in his ring finger on his right hand from knuckle to knuckle. He goes back to the Dr. to get x-rays on Monday to see if they're going to put a pin in his finger or not. The bones were crushed, but still intact. He also had stitches in between his ring and pinkie finger and his hand is really swollen. It may be ahwile before he goes back to work and he's already bored. Not much he can do since he's right handed and he's not the type to sit around and watch tv.

It's been hot here, today it was 101*, windy and dry. It's not even summer yet! I worry about my boys who both work outside in coveralls. Jeff said his muscles cramped up today, which means he's not drinking enough. I plan on buying a large water jug tomorrow and mixing equal parts of orange juice and lemonaide with slices of lemons and oranges in it, and bringing it out to the guys he works with tomorrow. I hear it's a thirst quenching drink. I'm sure with all that acid, I'd have acid reflux for sure. Here's a picture of Jeff at his graduation last month.

I haven't been here for awhile because well...I forgot how to post. Ack, I'm so computer illiterate sometimes. So I got to playing with the buttons and I'm back.
I seem to spend most of my day taking care of the elderly, helping run their households, cooking cleaning etc for them. Which leaves little time or energy to run my own. Thank goodness my husband and kids take turns cooking or ordering something for dinner. However they have completely different tastes than I do. Not sure how that happened, since I raised them on my cooking.

I made reservations for Albuquerque this morning. We're going to the Balloon Fiesta, although Mike won't be flying, we're just going as spectators. I'm sure he'll find someone to help that we know. I'd rather just take hundreds of pictures. This time with my digital. My 35mm gets heavy to carry around, but I do love the sound of the click when you snap a shot, it's music to my ears. I still don't have the 8 rolls I took the last time developed. I had one done, but didn't like the way it turned out. Considering that it was the Kodak Moments developing they forgot to enhance them and most were dark. They're supposed to be bright and colorful, they're hot air balloons for heaven's sake. I'm going to try and post a picture of our balloon that I took down in CO Springs, CO last Sept. Wish me luck.

My Doings

It took me a couple of hours last night, but I was finally able to post my picture here. Thanks Cindy for suggesting that I use Photobucket.
I worked for a few hours today, only meal prep. I swung by Mike's on my way home and bought a few of the clear plastic boxes to keep my 12x12 papers and embellishments in. I want to eventually replace my Target cubes with these, they take up a lot less space and keep things dust free. They also stack nicely. I did a kitty lo today, just pulled out my box like this that has all my papers, emb's and even some swap stuff. Everything in one place makes scrapping so much easier. I'm going to try and post a picture of these......

My Doings

Ah Sunday, my favorite day of the week-my day off! Today I hope to straighten up my scrapbook room and hopefully do a little scrapping. In the past I normally do 3 lo's on Sunday's, but lately I've been slacking off. I have my Ds2's graduation pictures to do, and a good friend sent me a box full of graduation papers and embellishments to use. It's overcast outside and a perfect day to stay in and work on these.
